MEMEBOX Valentine's Day #2 Candy For Me
Wednesday, 25 March 2015
Box description -
'Whether you're single or with someone, Valentine's Day is a good day to be a lady! It's because it's the one and only day where you can get away with some indulgent self-gifts for decadent, self pampering. Because you're so awesome, we gift you something super sweet! A box full of candy-scented, wondeliciously made, and scrumptious-looking Korean beauty skincare and makeup goodies that will sweeten up your year!
Screw Cupid, who say's you need a valentine to get great gifts on Valentine's Day?'
This is my last MEMEBOX due to them no longer shipping to the UK :( Luckily this is a good one and has 5 full size products.
Shara Shara Berry Berry Cleansing Sherbet 70g - $14 (£9.40) exp: 27/01/17
'Sorbet doesn't just melt in the mouth, this Berry Berry Cleaning Sorbet melts on your face! It's the perfect filling to go inside your favourite chocolate, but you'll be able to massage this sinful delight into your skin! Designed to gently remove even the most stubborn makeup, the sweet cleanser dissolves makeup, impurities, and oil without irritating or drying out the skin.'
This really does smell delicious, a lovely berry scent but not synthetic. The card says to use this to remove makeup and follow with a cleanser even though this is a cleanser?? I use a separate makeup remover so I will be using this just as a cleanser.
Elizavecca Aqua Rising Steam Filler Moisture Cream 100g - $46 (£30.00) exp: 06/01/18
'Nope! It's not the filling to your post-dinner dessert! This moisturizer, aka Gelato Cream, is a sweet remedy for soothing and moisturizing the skin! It uses a unique steam technology to provide a surge of hyaluronic acid, minerals, and vitamins to instantly nourish stressed, dry skin. This ultra hydrating facial-in-a-jar has a chewy marshmallow gelato texture that instantly absorbs into the skin to deliver a powerful dose of hydration, and creates a protective shield over the skin to keep moisture and nutrients in and environmental stressors out! The results? You'll see noticeable improvements in the skin's texture and supple, refreshed skin.'
I'm not sure how I feel about a face cream being described as chewy marshmallow...This may be too heavy for my skin as it's not particularly dry but I will give it a go and if all fails I will just use as a body lotion.
Rappol Nutritious Bio Ampoule Mask 27ml x3 - $36 for 6 (£24.17) exp: 21/01/17
'These unique facial sheet masks contains sweet and savory pomegranate, and Cleopatra's secret to her legendary beauty, hibiscus flower extract. The micro-fiber material is saturated with a blend of sweet ingredients to help diminish wrinkles and fine lines and maximize brightness and evenness in the complexion for a youthful look all around. The intense formula delivers radiant results instantly, while reducing existing pigmentation for a breathtakingly beautiful finish. Who knew such candy-sweet ingredients will give you your radiant glow?'
I do enjoy sheet masks so looking forward to using these, they're to be left on for 15-20 minutes and the remaining serum patted in.
Lassie'el Kiwi Brightening Yogurt Massage Mask 12g x4 - $6 (£4.03) exp: 15/05/17
'Brighten and perfect your complexion with this sweet and refreshing kiwi and yogurt twist! Kiwi and yogurt flavors are extremely popular candy flavors in Korea, and can be easily found in candy baskets and gift boxes during Valentine's season in Korea. Now, take this sweet mix, infused with real kiwi extracts, yogurt, hyaluronic acid and Vitamin E to brighten, correct, hydrate, and firm saggy skin for your best skin ever!'
I like that these little pots come with a lid so you can use a pot more than once. I will use these as I'm sure my skin can do with being a bit brighter.
Etude Sweet Recipe Candy Stick 2g - $5 (£3.36) made on: 26/01/15
'Enriched with bilberry, sugar cane, sugar maple, orange and lemon extracts, the Sweet Recipe Candy Stick is a gloss type lip tint that moisturizes and plumps up your dry, chapped lips for a long-lasting radiance.'
There were 3 shades people could have got, Seedless Strawberry Candy, Oh! Orange Candy and Sour Lemon Candy which is the one I received. As you can see from the picture below they give a very sheer tint of colour with the lemon one looking like it's got no colour at all. I will use it as I love lip products but it's just a shame the colour isn't a bit more well there.

Overall I like this box and will use everything within. I do feel some of the items weren't to the theme although they were 'justified' in their descriptions. This box cost $31.99 (£21.48) including shipping and if you are in one of the countries still able to get MEMEBOX you can check out what boxes they currently have here.
Did anyone else receive this box?
MEMEBOX Special #69 My Pouch Essentials
Friday, 20 March 2015
Box description -
'What's in your makeup pouch, or shall we say makeup pouches? Bursting with daily beautiful essentials, tested and approved by us, this box has just the right products to give you perfect touch-ups throughout the day, or help dramatize your look! No more lugging around heavy makeup bags full or unreasonable bulky products, just carry this box with you everywhere for your prettiest look every day because we got these box-ful of handy goodies down to a tee!'
Kwailnara Perfume de Moist Hand Cream Glam Savanna - 50g $4 (£2.64) exp: 06/10/17
'Infused with a musk floral scent and packed with nutrients from almond oil, shea butter, allantoin, and panthenol, this perfumed hand cream is fast-absorbing and replenishing with a silky soft finish. The chic zebra print design is also a fun, stylish addition to your pouch.'
The only thing putting me off using this is the musky floral scent, neither of which I am a fan of. I think I will probably pass this on as I do have a lot of hand creams already to get through but a good item just shame it wasn't in a different scent.
Hanskin Bio Origin Royal Ampoule B.B SPF30 PA++ - 4.5ml - $54 35ml (£35.66) exp: 06/03/17
'Hanskin's famouse Royal Ampoule BB cream is packed with rich nutrients from royal jelly extracts and it lightly glides over your skin when applied, leaving a visibly silkier, brightened complexion.'
There doesn't seem to be much in the bottle so I'm not sure how many applications you would get from this. I doubt I will be trying this out as I'm happy with the BB cream I currently have.
Tonymoly Face Mix Cover Pot Concealer - 4g $5 (£3.30) made on: 08/11/14
'A waterproof and long-lasting cream-type concealer that flawlessly covers up signs of blemished and pimples. The gentle formula enriched with lotus flower water, marine collagen, and ceramide is non-stimulating to even the most sensitive skin and helps maintain clear, supple complexion.'
I think I will try this out, it looks pale enough for me and I always seem to have something that needs covering up!
Tonymoly Crystal Stick Shadow - 1.35g $5 (£3.30)
'Perfect to be used alone or blended with other shadow colors to create varieties of naturally gradated eye makeup. It contains micro flat-type pearls, mica powder, and rosehip oil for a long-lasting adherence and color pigmentation that do not dry out the sensitive eye areas.'
There was also another colour that you could have got in this box and I would have much preferred that one, it was a champagne pink. I don't like gold so I will be passing this on.
Witch's Pouch Radiant Lolli Tint - 2.5g - 4.5g $15 (£9.90) exp: 21/04/17
'This is a 3 in 1 must-have lip item that brings together the glossiness of lip glosses, naturally blending formula of lip tints, and the colourful radiance of lipsticks. It melts onto lips for a lasting pigmentation that instantly lights up your complexion with neon-bright colors - orchid pink, coral jelly pink, and funky hot pink.'
So glad I got this colour, I'm yet to try it but a really pretty one for summer.
Rosemine Vitamin E Lip Balm Rose Fairy - 12g $7 (£4.62) exp:14/11/17
'Sweetly scented with fruity floral fragrance, the Vitamin E Lip Balm is richly formulated from a blend of vitamin E, ceramide, rosehip oil and 7 different moisturizing essential oil. It coats over dry, chapped lips with a moisture layer to lock in the moisture and to protect against the external damage and dehydration.'
As much as I love lip balms I have passed this one on as I hate rose scents.
This has been my least liked box, out of everything I will only be using the lip tint and concealer. I think it's mostly the scents and colours of the other items rather than the items themselves that I don't like. This box cost $29.99 including shipping.
In February MEMEBOX announced they would no longer be shipping internationally due to some ridiculous reason I can't remember, apparently they announced this on their Facebook page, I couldn't see it anywhere on the website. Only countries that already have a MEMEBOX warehouse will now be able to order and the UK isn't one of them. This is very disappointing as I really did enjoy getting these boxes as they were something different to what we get here. I have one more box to show which luckily was a good one and then no more MEMEBOX. If you're lucky enough to be able to order from them you can do so here.
Are you disappointed by their announcement?

MEMEBOX Special #58 Beauty 911
Tuesday, 27 January 2015
The second box I ordered from Memebox, if you're interested in trying out Korean skincare you can see the boxes available here. There are quite a few available at the moment so plenty to choose from.
This box was $29.99 plus $6.99 for standard shipping. I have given more information here along with what's inside the Global #16 box.
Box description -
'Bad hair days, vicious zits, hangover days, days when it's just so obvious that you've partied way too hard the night before - we've all been in that situation when we would've killed for a beauty emergency kit. Smart us, we've curated the perfect all-inclusive beauty box to save you in all your beauty predicaments, and put an end to all the madness.'

Smart us, we've curated the perfect all-inclusive beauty box to save you in all your beauty predicaments, and put an end to all the madness.'
Yadah Anti-T Spot Cream - 15g $15 (£9.90) exp: 01/03/17
'This Anti-T Spot Cream boosts a fast-absorbing, creamy formula enriched with cactus, green tea, rosemary, aloe vera, and sage extracts and completely free of paraben, benzophenon, mineral oil, sulphate, artificial coloring, and animal ingredients. Its gentle, naturally-derived ingredients are non-stimulating on even the most sensitive skin types and they effectively treat red spots and blemishes for a cleaner and clearer complexion.'
This has arrived just in time to help combat my recent plague of spots. I currently use Tea Tree Oil which does help but I like to try different things in case something works better.
Neogen Miracle Lighting Eye Lifter - 15ml $30 (£19.81) exp: 08/06/17
'This cooling roll-on type Miracle Lightening Eye Lifter is a total eye-care phenomenon that addresses all aging eye care concerns in all-in-one! Massage this roll-on applicator along the under eyes to gently distribute toxic build-up from underneath the eyes to revitalize, smooth, brighten, de-bloat, and lift the eye area. It contains adenosine, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid to constrict the fine blood vessels that cause dark under eye circles and gives the overall look of exhaustion. It is also packed with loads of anti-aging ingredients, to recapture lost volume and increase the collagen production to reduce fine lines! Best recommended for dark under eye circles, under eye wrinkles, bloated eye lids, crows feet, and sagging eye lids.
Apparently this can also be used around the mouth which I'll probably not be trying out. I'm currently using another eye roller which feels really nice when I put it on but balls throughout the day so is obviously not sinking in. Hopefully this one will be different as it would be nice to touch my face without it falling off.
Mise En Scene Perfect Repair - 70ml $16 (£10.56) made on: 18/08/14
'This highly-concentrated Perfect Repair is to be used before and/or after blow drying to give your hair the silky, well-nourished finish. It's enriched with 7 different natural oils - argan, camellia, olive, jojoba, coconut, apricot, and marula - and its oil-like formula quickly absorb into the hair without making it sticky or greasy.'
I won't be using this product, I don't ever blow dry my hair and currently have enough hair oils to last me for the year. I'm sure this could be used without the need to blow dry but I'm good for hail products.
Vella Blind Sun Stick Protector SPF50+PA++ - 16g $18 (£11.89) exp: 29/11/16
'UV protection is a beauty essential nowadays with UVA and UVB rays being responsible for sagging skin, fine lines & wrinkles, dulled complexion, and even stimulated & damaged skin conditions. This Blind Sun Stick Protector can be easily rolled on and it'll leave the skin feeling super soft and matted. Thus, it can be applied under or over makeup, as many time as needed, and as often as possible for a 100% protection against the skin's biggest enemy.'
I've not opened this but I've heard it looks like a deodorant stick. I won't be using this, I know you're supposed to wear sun screen even on cloudy days but I don't really want to. I'm very much a vampire when it comes to daylight so I'm happy to risk leaving out SPF.
Shara Shara Bee Tox Toner - 130ml $19 (£12.55) exp: 24/12/15
'A mist toner for acne prone skin types. It's formulated with bee venom extracts, propolis extracts, and tee tree oil, all well-acknowledges soothing treatments for relieving blemishes, controlling excessive oil and sebum, and refreshing the skin for a cleaner, clearer complexion.'
This will be added to my skin care routine although I'll use it on a cotton pad rather than misting onto my face. Anything that fights blemishes and oil control is most welcome. Also intrigued that this contains bee venom extracts, not heard of any products containing this before so very interested if this will help my skin.
Cheek Room Lip Balm 05 Cherry Clover - 12g $12 (£7.92) made on: 15/09/14
'Cheek Room's adorable Lip Balm Clover is a true multi-player for not only moisturizing dry, chapped lips but also plumping up and reviving the suppleness of dulled-out lips. The olive-oil, shea butter, and jojoba oil formula works to nourish and protect as well.'
This reminds me of lip balms I had as a kid, this looks very jelly like so will be interesting to see how the fares to the usual balms I have.
I also received a golden ticket in this box which gave me $3 off my next purchase which works out as half the shipping cost. I've already used this on a couple of new boxes which I'll be putting up posts on soon.
Overall I'm most excited about the toner and spot treatment, the other things are good but a couple of them I won't be using. Still a good variety of products and all full size.
Are you a fan of Memebox?
The end of the beauty box....?
Monday, 19 January 2015
I've been subscribed to Birchbox and Glossybox for a couple of years but when my subscriptions were up for renewal in November I just didn't bother. I realised that it had been quite some time since I was last excited about receiving a box and that really I had grown disinterested in them all together.
I recently had a clear out and the majority of things thrown were products I'd received in these boxes, such a waste but they were items I just had no interest in. Obviously not everything I received was awful and I haven't had to buy a cleanser since I subscribed but for all the good I realised it really wasn't worth the money I was spending on the subscriptions. My biggest problems with the boxes were the perfume samples which I know a lot of other people hated getting as well and the variety of what I was receiving. Body lotion being the main culprit, I had a whole box of them! Even though I had filled out my profiles to my preferences I was receiving products which didn't match what was on my profiles. The novelty had worn off and after seeing reviews from people on the last couple of boxes I know I'm not missing out on anything.
Currently I'm trying out Memebox which is a service where you receive Korean skincare products. I'll also keep purchasing any boxes that The British Beauty Blogger releases. These 2 so far seem to be better value for money and the products are ones that I will actually use.
I've got some Memebox posts coming up and here are some posts of the previous BBB boxes if you're interested in what to expect -

This is the 4th beauty box from Jane, better known as The British Beauty Blogger. I think this is probably my favourite box so far and I do hope she continues to bring out such amazing boxes. This is the second one she has done with Latest In Beauty and due to high demand it broke the LIB website, definitely something to be proud of! Luckily I put my name down on the waiting list and received my box within a couple of days of payment. Jane was great with keeping everyone up to date with what was going on which I'm sure was very much appreciated by all.
Onto the box -
The only beauty box that comes this packed full of goodies. For £21.95 you get 18 products and I believe a value of over £100.
Le Couvent des Minimes - Gardener's Hands Healer
This sounds like it's going to be a very intense lotion which for winter time is a must as there's nothing worse than cracked skin. This contains 20% shea butter and 7 healing plant extracts.
Burt's Bees - Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream
This is more of a wax consistence in that it is a hard balm which melts to the touch. I already have one of these little tins and really don't use it as much as I should. It smells really nice and I could imagine this tin lasting a very long time.
Essie Polish
I received Toggle To The Top which I have seen described as red and raspberry so I'm not sure what colour it actually is! This is one of 3 colours that can be found in this box. I'm really happy with this glittery shade, perfect for Christmas time which when I'll be donning it.
Kerastase - Bain Satin 1 & Lait Vital
A shampoo and conditioner I've not tried before. I've heard these leave hair soft so will give them a try.
invisibobble - the traceless hair ring
3 hair rings that don't leave the usual line that normal hair bands do. Great for people who sleep with their hair up.
Eylure - Brow Crayon in mid brown
This is noted as being long lasting and blendable. It is a twist up pencil which saves on product waste from sharpening. I do nothing with my brows but I know a lot of people will be happy to have this in their box.
Ardell - Demi Wispies
Natural looking lashes that I've heard a lot of people talk about. I've worn lashes before and found them easy enough to use, I may give them a go around Christmas when I've got a few events to go to.
Ciate London - Lashlights
I got Electric which is a lovely blue which should go nicely with my brown eyes, I may be wrong! There are 6 colours in the boxes, all look very bright. This is to be brushed on the tips of the lashes after mascara has been applied. I'm hoping this is going to be as bright as it looks in the tube.
Elizabeth Arden - Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick SPF15
This is basically the cult Eight Hour cream in stick format. It has UV protection and provides moisture which is very much needed for this time of year. I do have a sample of the Eight Hour cream but am yet to use it but as a lip balm addict this won't go to waste.
LOLA - lipstick in Strawberry Fields.
This is a beautiful pink and I'm so glad I received this shade, the other available is Sunset Red. This lipstick claims to be hydrating and highly pigmented. Really looking forward to trying this out.
Sleek - Pout Polish in The Show.
This is a baby pink which I hope comes across on the lips, the other shade available is The Afterparty which is a hot pink. These 2 mini shades are exclusive to the box which is a treat. I haven't tried a Pout Polish but they look like they will give a nice gloss to the lips. Also contains SPF15 for some added protection.
mio - Double Buff
This is a dual action enzyme exfoliator which I'm honestly not sure what that means. Again another product suited well for this season, you can never go wrong with exfoliation.
NUDE - ProGenius Treatment Oil
This oil is packed full of omega which softens your complexion overnight. Since breaking out from using an oil cleanser I'm a bit dubious about putting oil on my face. I shall brave it and fingers crossed the outcome is good skin rather than all hell breaking loose.
The Body Shop - Beautifying Oil
There are 9 different scents for this box and I got Cocoa Butter which smells lovely. I have had one of these before in Mango and ended up using it as a bath oil as I found it a bit too messy. It worked just as well at moisturising. This is a dry oil which can be used on body, face and hair.
Agent Provocateur - Fatale
Perfume sample. I'm never interested in these samples but I know lots of people do enjoy them.
Vichy - Aqualia Thermal Light
This is good for normal to combination skin, this gel-crème adds a nice boost of moisture into dry and tight feeling skin. It also gives 48 hour hydration so I could imagine this would benefit people with really dry skin. Hopefully this won't be too heavy for me as I find a lot of moisturisers are.
Bourjois - Delice de Poudre Duo
This is their best selling product, a bronzer and highlighter duo. I never use bronzer so I won't get any use from this but it is still an amazing product to find in the box. You can tell Jane really put a lot of thought into the contents.
Over all this box was definitely worth the money and I'm really looking forward to trying a lot out. As always a lot of thought went into this and she handled the website problems perfectly. Another box well done.

BBB Christmas Edit Box 2013
Saturday, 9 November 2013
Received my BBB box this morning, I know a lot of people were still waiting for theirs on Thursday so hopefully they have all been delivered by now. Sadly this sold out within hours of going live but fingers crossed we will get to see more next year.I was so excited for this as I really enjoyed the first one that was out in July. I made sure I didn't look at any posts regarding the box as I just love the surprise when opening boxes like this.
This is basically my initial thoughts on it, I will be reviewing some of the items individually which I can't wait to try some of the items out.
Rituals Car Perfume - £10.00 from here
Mine is in Sandalwood & Copaiba, you can't really smell anything in the box so I don't know if I will like the scent or not. It works by attaching it to one of the fans in your car so when the air comes through it sends out the scent. Sadly I no longer have a car but I will see if mummy would like this in hers.
Alterna Bamboo 48 Hour Sustainable Volume Spray - £24 for full size here
I think I already have a bamboo spray but possibly from a different brand, I haven't used I yet. This spray is to be used on towel dried hair before blow drying. My only problem with hair products like these is the need to blow dry. I like to let my hair dry naturally plus it take very little time for it to actually dry. I do need some volume in my hair though so I think I will have to give it a go.
Washi! Hot Cloth - £6.55 for a pack of 7 here
A pure cotton cloth which is supposed to stay hot longer than a muslin cloth. It does feel really soft so this will be going into my rotation of face clothes. There is a 15% discount on orders using code BBB at checkout, it says valid for 14 days from when you receive your box so not sure when this ends.
CND Vinylux Nail Polish & Top Coat - £8.95 per bottle here (I couldn't find this duo)
I got the colour Tropix which is quite a bright pink colour along with the clear top coat. This polish should last a week once applied so I will be interested to see if it actually does. I use a computer every day which usually leads to chipping quicker then normal so it will be put to the test.
Maybelline Rocket Mascara - £7.99 here
One mascara I've not tried, I used to use the Colossal which was good so I have higher expectations for this one. I'll be saving this for when my Benefit one has run out.
Bourjois Eyeliner - £5.99 here
On the pencil I have shade 16 Ebene & Argent but can't see this on Boots or the Bourjois website so I'm not sure. Basically a black liner and a silver highlighter for the inner corners or a liner by itself. The silver feels creamy so it should be a nice one to wear. It gives a 16 hour wear time so we shall see.
Rouge Bunny Gleaming Temptations Lip Gloss - £15.35 here
My shade is Blameless which on the website describes it as a 'your lips but better shade' and I agree this is a very nice nude shade. Being pale I find some nudes don't suit me but this isn't too dark so as long as it isn't a sticky gloss this should be a nice one to wear everyday.
Urban Decay Moondust Eye shadow - £14 here
This is in the shade Zodiac which is a beautiful green with what looks like multi coloured shimmers through it. I love Urban Decay eye shadows as the pigmentation is amazing and the shadow is so soft. I think this will go really well with my brown eyes and just in time for a festive look.
L'Occitane Angelica Cleansing Gel & Toner - £16 each here & here
I like to use a toner after a face mask just to make sure all of it has been removed so this will be put to use straight away. Cleansing gel I will put with my current stash as I seem to have acquired quite a few! These smell very fresh so probably a good one for morning time.
REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask & Invisible Pores Detox Mask - £30 & £18 here
I'm looking forward to trying both of these, targeting blackheads and pores around my nose. I've tried other masks aimed at clearing out blackheads but they've never really worked so I've got my fingers crossed on at least one of these banishing them.
Indeed Labs Hydraluron - £24.99 here
An intense moisture boosting serum which has proven to be quite popular in the beauty world so with the colder weather pretty much already here this will be a good one to add to the skin care routine.
La Roche-Posay Redermic (R) Dermatological Anti-Wrinkle Treatment - £18.66 here
Designed for sensitive skin this is probably a suit all product. Even though I don't have wrinkles the also claims to even out skin tone so I will give it a try to see if this makes my skin look better.
Vichy Idealia Smoothing & Illuminating Cream - £22 here
This one is for normal to combination skin which suits me perfectly. They also do one for dry so one for all skin types. Again a product for wrinkles and an even skin tone but this one also helps give a natural radiance which is always needed in winter.
Finally there was a little stocking in the box which is so cute, I will definitely be using this for someones Christmas gift.
This box cost £22 with £5.95 P&P and is approximately worth £150. A mixture of full size and trial size this is definitely a good way to try out a lot of brands and new products. Both BBB boxes have not disappointed and I think it's such a good way to try out beauty bloggers favourite products. Thank you British Beauty Blogger for arranging these boxes, I look forward to trying them all out!

Roger&Gallet Bois d'Orange Huile Sublime - £12 for 30ml here
A light non greasy dry oil, the scent is quite nice considering orange is not something I would go for. I tried this on the back of my hand and it sank in straight away, I hate oils that just sit on the skin. This will be nice for when it's too cold for lotion plus I probably won't need to wait around for it to sink in before getting dressed.
L'Occitane Cherry Blossom Hand Cream - £8 here
I've not used anything from L'Occitane before but this smells lovely. Hand cream is a year round staple in my bag or by my bed so it's always a bonus when it smells good.
Mandara Spa Tropical Blooms Softening Bath Milk - £5 here
A mixture of jasmine, ylang ylang, sweet almond and star flower. This smells good, I can see it being a nice addition to my baths. I've not tried a bath milk before as I love a lot of bubbles so it will be interesting to see how it compares to good old bubble bath.
