Resin mold haul

Friday 14 March 2014

For a couple of years I have been making resin jewellery and for certain designs I order from Moldedfromlove which was originally an Etsy shop but they now have a website - here
They ship from America but the prices are good and the quality of the molds is really good. I placed an order in January and it arrived I think the same month so pretty quick.

The lady who runs the business always sends extras which I think is a really nice touch.

This order I did receive 2 molds that weren't the ones I had asked for and 1 mold which I didn't even order. Because it was a big order the owner explained I should have given the links to the items rather than just the titles. I can live with this and make use out of at least one of them. I was also missing 3 or 4 (I can't remember) molds I did ask for, I am still waiting for those to be sent out.

This is the first time I have had any issues when ordering but now they have a proper website things should be a lot easier to order.

When I finally get around to making some pieces with these molds I'll do a post with them. Are there any other crafters out there with blogs?

The worlds most expensive leggings.....

Wednesday 12 March 2014

Due to size problems my jeans don't really fit anymore but I have found the answer in Black Milk. Their leggings fit like a second skin and the designs are just amazing. This is my second haul and with their Game of Thrones collection coming out on March 11th I maybe placing another order pretty soon.

Most of the pairs I got this time were from a stock sale on their museum collection, most of them are still available so I've linked them below.

From L-R - birth of Venus 2.0  snow flake  Egyptian parchment all $75 AUD

Top - Adventure time bro ball  Bottom - Adventure time montage black both $85 AUD

call of Napoleon - $75 AUD

triumph of Death - no longer available

I believe import & tax was around £90 something which is why these are the most expensive leggings I will own! I have got quite a nice collection of Black Milk, I am considering getting some of their swimsuits and wearing those with jeans....guess I definitely will be placing another order. Sorry debit card (not sorry)

Another Boots haul

Monday 10 March 2014

I just can't help myself, the prospect of going to Boots fills me with delight, sad yes I know. I took a list this time and got the majority, the concealer I was after they didn't have my shade which is basically ghost. I will have to keep that for another trip which inevitably will happen. As usual most items were on 3 for 2 but that still didn't stop my bill coming to I think £88 something!

L'Oreal Skin Perfection Micellar Solution - £4.99
My current make up remover, this works well at removing mascara. I've not tired it on waterproof so I'm not sure how well it works on that but all in all not bad.
Mitchum - £2.89
Current deodorant, nothing special but I like it's unscented and works well enough.
Large cotton pads - £2.19
I like to use the baby ones as they are much bigger so one is all I need to remove my make up.
Clear hair bands - not on website
I have decided it's time to start making an effort with my hair so I have got these in the hopes I can make it look semi-nice. We shall see.

Benefit they're real mascara - £19.50
This is expensive but totally worth the price. This is my favourite mascara, it does everything I want and is one of the only mascaras I've found so far that doesn't smudge onto my eyelid when applying.
Revlon lip butter in sugar plum - £7.99
Another to add to my collection, bar a few I have the majority of the shades as they are just so nice to wear. This is a nice purplely colour that I believe won't be too dark for my pale pale skin.

Soap & Glory foam call™ & sugar crush both £6.50
Love both of these smells, they lather up well and 500ml for £6.50 I don't think is too bad.

Soap & Glory hair turban  - £7.50
I have not mastered the art of towel wrapping as it always falls off. I believe this turban will work wonders....all thanks to the button that keeps the towel in place, genius.
Soap & Glory bath pillow - £8
I've tried a bath pillow before from The Body Shop but it was a bit too big to be able to rest comfortably on. I'm yet to give this one a go but fingers crossed it sits nicer on the bath.

Schwarzkopf live color XXL - £5.49
The 2 dyes I use to colour my hair which at the moment is long overdue!
L'Oreal Elvive Fibrology shampoo £3.99 thickness booster £5.99
I have a lot of hair but it's very fine, there's absolutely no volume to it all so having heard good things about this range I'm intrigued to see if it really does thicken or at least give the appearance of thickness.
L'Oreal kid sweet pear tangle tamer - £2.19
I'm low on detangler so picked this up. It smells amazing and since it's been formulated for kids I'm thinking it will work a bit better at detangling my hair.

While writing this post I noticed on my receipt that they had charged me for a Chanel gloss at £14.50. I own nothing Chanel so had no idea how that had got on there. I had to go back to the store to explain, they gave me a refund but even they had no idea why it was on there as they don't sell Chanel makeup. Moral of that boring story is check your receipts, such words of wisdom.

My brain is broken....

Friday 7 March 2014

Last June I applied and started a Uni course in Classical Archaeology & Ancient History which I do from home. Because I work full time I have to do the course as part time so instead of 3 years I will be finished in 6. I knew obviously this would be a lot of work but didn't realise just how difficult it would be to get all the reading done. With suffering from constant tiredness, all my energy gets used up at work so when I get home I have no motivation to study....My current module started beginning of February, the first week I was ill so already I was a week behind and have yet to catch up.

This module is the most reading I've had to do, the course book is massive! Each topic is supposed to cover a weeks worth of work, I honestly have no idea how someone who works full time, has kids and does housework copes with this amount of reading!!

No idea how I'm going to catch up as my brain literally can't take in this much information. 5 more years of this and maybe by the end I will have managed to find a routine, better late than never eh.

Cook Book Haul

Wednesday 5 March 2014

It has become evident that not only do I love reading books but I have now started to build up a collection of them. A mixture of baking and cooking I think I'm pretty much covered if I ever want to cook something! This obviously won't stop me from getting more.

I recently went into The Works which is a discount bookshop, and picked up a few food books.

500 recipes Italian - £3.99  500 recipes cook's bible - £4.99  Bake like the best - £3.99
Sweet things - £6.99

The best book I picked up, I love Italian food and this has really easy and quick recipes. I've already gone through and marked out everything I want to make. Nigella Lawson Nigellissima - £9.99

If you don't have a shop near you you can always order online - The Works

Not bad for what was supposed to be a quick stop in town!

Lazy Birthday

Monday 3 March 2014

February brought a lot of rain and me another year closer to 30, I don't know which is more depressing. I took the day off work and spent it relaxing, this is how I like to spend a lot of my time. I've not been bothered about birthdays for the past few years so as long as I wasn't at work I was happy. Instead of a birthday card I asked for a picture of an octopus...Here's the majority of what I got -

I watched Alice in Wonderland while devouring that bag of cheese popcorn, my favourite. Luckily I have 2 others to make my way through yum. So that was my birthday, uneventful but that's how I like it. I am basically 70 already.

Burt's Bees Honeysuckle grab bag

Saturday 1 March 2014

This is my second grab bag from Burt's Bees and again it is such a good deal. For £20 you get 8 products apparently worth £52.93, well worth it. There is also a Tiger Lily bag if you don't like the look of Honeysuckle.

This is what I got inside -

Honey & Shea Sugar Scrub
This looks like it will be quite a thick scrub which I like, I prefer a scrub that I can feel working. By working I mean taking a layer of skin off.

Tinted Lip Balm - Honeysuckle
I've not tired the tinted balms but I'm hoping they have good colour payoff. This is a nice neutral so should give the lips a pretty hint of colour.

Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream
I have a miniature of this and it smells exactly like lemon, very refreshing. It's almost like a very hard oil that you need to warm up before getting some product, this tin will last a lifetime as not much product is needed.

Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil & Milk & Honey Body Lotion
I've gone through 2 of these lip balms before, nothing special but nice for a quick fix. A nice travel size body lotion, considering I have way too many already this small size will help in actually using it up.

Shea Butter Hand Cream
I have tried a hand cream from Burt's Bees before but it was honey scented which I hated so I'm hoping this one will have a more pleasant smell. Always in need of a good hand cream.

2 Super Gloss - Nectar Nude & Sweet Pink
I have another one of these, can't remember the shade, a pink I believe. It gives a nice wash of colour, isn't sticky and not super glittery. The only downside, which to me is possibly a deal breaker...the smell. I may be on my own here but it smells of orange and I'm not a fan. It's quite a strong smell which lasts on the lips for a while. If these shades are nice I will just have to not breathe when applying.

I'm really happy with this box and will get use out of everything. I know the grab bags used to be a surprise where as now you see what you will be getting. Even though the surprise element has disappeared I still think it is a really good idea, especially if you want to try out a few items from the brand.

This and the Tiger Lily grab bags are still available here
